Year 4

Welcome to Year 4

"Grow your learning"
Year 4 is an amazing year full of exciting learning and activities. As this is the last year in First school the children take on extra roles and responsibilities around school such as PE leaders, Reading mentors and Blossom Buddies. There are lots of opportunities for Year 4 to take part in Sports Festivals and OrienteeringThe children continue to develop their skills from Year 3 with the swimming curriculum which is delivered by instructors at Waves pool. We encourage independence in preparation for middle school but continue to provide a nurturing environment. Year 4 also have the opportunity to attend a residential at Robinwood this has been extremely successful as it is 3 days packed with exciting activities. An enhancement week is also held in school for children who do not attend.

Our curriculum is divided up into half termly topics:
World War 2, Our European Neighbours, Ancient Egypt, Rainforests, The Romans and Habitats. (Details in Long term and Medium Term plan)
