Religious Education

Our school RE policy is based upon North Tyneside's Agreed Syllabus. Our aim is to help the children develop and communicate their own beliefs about religion, spirituality and moral values. We learn about differing religious beliefs and practices, thereby encouraging empathy and respect for other people regardless of their religious, ethical or social background. The teaching of RE is strongly linked with our Values Curriculum.

Throughout the First School, children study Christianity, Islam, Judaism and Hinduism. Members of local faith communities also support the teaching of RE. Parents have the right to withdraw their child from Religious Education or Collective Worship.
