Modern Foreign Languages

In Key Stage 2, Year 3 and 4 follow the National Curriculum for Modern Foreign Languages. They learn how to introduce themselves, talk about their family and pets and learn everyday vocabulary, such as numbers, colours, days and months of the year. The curriculum also aims to develop an understanding of the french  culture. This year we have been lucky enough to have a French teaching assistant work with Year 3 and 4 for the Summer Term.

Lingotots French Club is available for children from Reception to Year 2 and is a fun introduction to the language.

To extend our learning and develop our understanding of other cultures around the world, each year we have an  International Week, where each class learns about a country, its language and culture in a fun, creative way.

Our school as gained the International Award and has plans this year to develop international links with a partner school through the E-twinning programme with the British Council.
